The Lob ✂️

So, once again Kim Kardashian has set a trend (be it only lasting for 5 minutes before she turned into Draco Malfoy with platinum blonde hair – but let’s stay away from that or I’ll be writing all day). And I LOVE IT! The Lob is back people.

Tell your neighbours, tell your friends, but most importantly tell your hairdresser because this is the look of the season.

For anybody that knows me, you will know how emotionally attached I have been to my long locks for the past 10 years. So, I don’t mean to be dramatic, but this was the most emotional decision I’ve had in possibly forever. But with the support from everybody that I bothered about this, I was able to make the chop.

So on a Monday afternoon, I head into my local hairdresser and I’m immediately concerned. The first thing she says to me is “Don’t tell me you want one of those short cuts everybody is getting”.. Firstly, sorry lady but when did you have a say in this? And secondly, why you gotta toy with my emotions like that?

Anyway, I sheepishly went through with the cut… And now I’m wondering why I didn’t do it sooner! What a flattering style. I just got a straight cut (layers remind me of mullets), but because I chopped off all my length I was able to get the volume I desired. Flat hair, along with canckles, is something I’ve had to deal with my whole life. All the volumizing mousse and teasing in the world couldn’t save my flat hair. What was even more annoying is that it couldn’t hold any sort of curl! It was literally the most annoying thing ever (probably). But I really need to stop complaining about my old hair, it’s starting to feel like I’m whining about an ex-boyfriend. But seriously, my long hair was beautiful and I appreciated our time together. Although I have finally moved on.

Final thoughts: GO THE LOB, LADIES!
